Let’s Fly • At this year’s Red Bull Formation—an annual event in Virgin, Utah, that brings together the best female mountain bike freeriders—the competitors pushed the boundaries to new limits. “The progression witnessed was spectacular and marks a turning point for women’s freeride mountain biking,” founding organizer Katie Holden told reporters. Case in point: New Zealander Robin Goomes finished her line with a backflip, the first ever performed at the event. “We have seen a tremendous amount of confidence from the riders,” added Holden. “We hit a milestone.”
